Brain waves and childhood programming
Show me your childhood, your parents, your peers and I will tell you who you think you are. Before you start getting all defensive because you think we are out to bash parents and point angry fingers at the your loved ones, relax. We are not in the blaming business. Rather we would like to show you
• How our childhood experiences form our belief systems
• That you are not the calm, rational decider you might think you are
• And that you have no idea who you really are and have just accepted other people’s opinions about you.
What does a baby think?
Let’s go back in time and for a moment imagine being that sweet little, defenseless baby. And let me tell you something about a baby’s state of brain.
Fact is: The more relaxed your brain waves are, the easier it is for information to get into your head and literally program your mind.
What waves are my brain making?
Lets first look into the different brainwaves. There are 4 brainwave states we go through on a daily basis.
• Beta
• Alpha
• Theta
• Delta
When we are in beta we are conscious and our critical faculty protects our subconscious mind. We filter what we perceive and make up opinions and react based on our beliefs or emotions.
In alpha we are more relaxed and less critical, we are much more willing to see a bigger picture and are no longer governed by our critical mind. We are more open to new ideas, suggestions and are far more creative.
In theta we are deeply relaxed and very open, we have a hard time filtering information and start accepting much more at face value. We only resist what goes against our morals and deep beliefs. In this state we can change most of our beliefs about ourselves and accept more empowering beliefs. We are accustomed to go into sleep in this slow brain-activity.
Delta is our dream state and integration state, we here process the information we pick up during the day and also process our emotions.
Lets go back to babies
Now up to the age of 2 years, a baby’s brainwaves are in the delta state most of the time. This is a deeply relaxed state that as a grown up you go into when you are fast asleep and will find virtually impossible to stay awake in. From the age of about 2-7
